The American Booksellers Association to Launch “Give Me Summer! Give Me Books!”
“Give Me Summer! Give Me Books! presents young customers with a reading challenge: Can you read six books during the summer months? At least three of those six books should be on the list of suggested titles and purchased from a local independent bookseller.”
Three reading lists have been designed; one for Kindergarten through Second Grade, one for Third Grade through Fifth Grade, and one for Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade. Some of the recommended titles include Kate DiCamillo’s Bink & Gollie, Jacqueline Davies’s The Lemonade War, and Marissa Meyer’s Cinder.
