Reading Rainbow’s LeVar Burton Launches Online Reading Service
Skybrary School will feature 800 interactive Reading Rainbow titles, teacher-crafted lesson plans, and other supplemental materials. The project was funded through Reading Rainbow’s impressive Kickstarter campaign, which raised over $6 million dollars last year.
Burton is excited about the diverse new platforms and content available to young readers in the digital age.
We need more diverse people in these gatekeeper positions. The good news is that in the digital age, the gatekeepers tend to have less and less sway over content creation. We are in an age where we are truly experiencing the democratization of content creation and distribution. (School Library Journal)
