Lucy Lareau (daughter), Aged 13
What’s your Hogwarts house? What qualities about the house do you feel best suit you? Which qualities make you think the Sorting Hat should think again?
My Hogwarts House is Hufflepuff. I do always try to be kind to others. But, if I had another shot at the Sorting Hat, it may consider Ravenclaw. I love school and get good grades!
If you could only eat one food for a week, what would you pick?
Burritos, no question. They make a burrito for every meal: breakfast burritos, lunch, and dinner!
What is the weirdest random fact that you know?
The average person spends six months throughout their lifetime waiting for a red light to turn green!
Tell us one insider-fact about the Geeky Fab Five’s, Vol. 3, DOGgone CATastrophe.
In the book, Marina, my older sister, is deathly afraid of snakes. And, she hates them in real life, too. So it was extra fun to put the snake in her bed for the book!
Liz Lareau (mother)
What is your zodiac sign? Which zodiac sign personality trait do you relate to most and least?
I am a Libra so I do strive to live in balance and harmony…however most days, as a working mom, that is a fantasy! Another Libra trait is to straighten pictures in a room, which I do, and can’t seem to stop myself.
What’s your Hogwarts house? What qualities about the house do you feel best suit you? Which qualities make you think the Sorting Hat should think again?
My Hogwarts House is Gryffindor, which surprised me. However, I have been told I am courageous, so I guess the hat knew what it was doing. Yet, if I asked the Sorting Hat to think again, I would hope for Ravenclaw. I love school and academics, and I believe having wisdom to be the greatest of gifts.
What was your favorite childhood TV show and why?
Star Trek, the original series. Growing up, I had a telescope and wanted to travel the stars. I also thought Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy were pretty cool, too!

Lucy and I got the idea for the plot for the girls to code an app to match foster pets after a storm damaged the shelter. A similar event happened at our own real-life county shelter that was also damaged in a wind storm. The whole community and area schools donated food, toys, and blankets for the animals.
