Celebrate LitWorld and Scholastic’s World Read Aloud Day 1/31-2/2
Join Scholastic in celebrating World Read Aloud Day with three days of free virtual events. Attend all sessions or just a few, there is something for everyone! Meet your favorite authors, play games, enjoy read alouds, hear from educational experts, and more!
In the third school year impacted by the pandemic, kids, families, and educators everywhere are combatting fatigue and longing for connection. But as the 13th annual World Read Aloud Day approaches on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, we are reminded of the powerful way sharing stories can bring us all together.
This year, Scholastic and LitWorld are inviting families, classrooms, and communities everywhere to celebrate World Read Aloud Day with a series of free, fun, and easy-to-join virtual events from January 31 through February 2 called World Read Aloud Day Book Fest.
The events are centered on interacting with beloved authors including Tami Charles (All Because You Matter), and literacy experts including Pam Allyn (founder of World Read Aloud Day and author of Every Child a Super Reader), Dr. Jacqueline Sanderlin (educator and author of The “Why Not?” Challenge), and Dwaine Millard, Senior Vice President of Family & Community Engagement at Scholastic.
World Read Aloud Day 2022 activities and resources also include book picks, a virtual kit, parents talk, sing-alongs, reading sessions, and more.
