Nerdcamp 101
Founded in 2013 by teachers Colby and Alaina Sharp, Nerdcamp continues to serve as a valuable forum for exchanging ideas on K–12 education. In contrast with more structured conferences, this freewheeling event inspires genuine collaboration. Children also have the opportunity to participate through Nerdcamp Jr.
There are a lot of conferences out there, but this is the only one where it’s just about books and kids. That’s the focus. I can learn a lot at the larger professional conferences, but this is so straightforward. It’s the people. (School Library Journal)
