Happy Birthday, Philip Pullman!
Pullman studied at the University of Oxford, where he went on to work as a professor. After penning a few novels for adults, Pullman shifted to writing for younger readers. He is best known for the trilogy His Dark Materials, published between 1995 and 2000.
Pullman is one of the most beloved children’s authors of his time, receiving international recognition and earning comparisons to such fantasy writers as J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
