SCBWI Winter Conference–Register Now
This year’s SCBWI Winter Conference will take place in New York. The keynote speaker is Elizabeth Wein, author of ‘Code Name Verity’ and ‘Rose Under Fire’ (Disney-Hyperion). The keynote panel will include Joan Bertin, Executive Director of the National Coalition Against Censorship, Ellen Hopkins, author of ‘Crank,’ ‘Impulse,’ and many other YA books (Margaret K. McElderry/Simon and Schuster), and Susanna Reich, chair of the Children’s and Young Adult Book Committee at the PEN American Center.
SCBWI is “one of the largest existing organizations for writers and illustrators. It is the only professional organization specifically for those individuals writing and illustrating for children and young adults in the fields of children’s literature, magazines, film, television, and multimedia. [Their] mission is to support the creation and availability of quality children’s books around the world.”
