For WONDER fans who are a little older: a hilarious novel starring a sweet, awkward boy, a not-so-sweet girl, and the bully they defeat.

This is told in alternating voices: Stewart Inkster, 13, a genius who’s “ungifted” socially, and Ashley, 14, the mean queen of 9th grade. Stewart’s mom died almost two years ago. Now his Dad and Ashley’s mom Caroline have fallen in love, and Dad and Stewart move into Caroline’s house. Ashley is horrified, especially when “Spewart,” the freakazoid brainiac, transfers into her ninth grade class. He better not tell anyone the truth about her parents’ divorce.
