Asian American & Pacific Islander Resources

Booklists and resources discussing Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage.

Updated: May 2026

The CBC is happy to share the news about the prestigious Freeman Book Awards, honoring East and Southeast Asian titles for children and young adults.

You can see the 2025 award winners at their site, including picture books, books for middle graders, and young adult fiction and graphic novels. Judging is underway for the 2026 awards.

While we continue to enrich our AAPI booklist with standout titles like those featured below, we also want to highlight this curated guide to 18 AAPI-owned bookstores. Together, these resources reflect our ongoing commitment to amplifying diverse voices and supporting the creators behind them.

To recognize and celebrate the rich culture and history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, the CBC has curated an up-to-date list of new and backlist books. This list was created in April of 2025 and we will add books throughout the year.

You can also download this list as a spreadsheet!
