Roller Girl

Twelve year-old Astrid does absolutely everything with her best friend Nicole. But when she sparks an interest in roller derby, she knows she’s destined to be a roller girl. Unfortunately, Nicole doesn’t seem to share her enthusiasm. Astrid finds herself facing the summer all alone, struggling against the tough regiment of roller derby camp and wondering if she made the wrong decision after all. But despite the falls—so many falls!—as Astrid heads into the Rose City Rollers first derby bout, she knows that with the right amount of stamina and confidence, she’s strong enough to be a roller girl—and most importantly, herself.
