The Society of Illustrators Presents ‘The Original Art’
The Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators presents ‘The Original Art,’ an annual exhibit honoring exceptional children’s book illustrators. The 2014 exhibit, which features 166 books, will be on display from October 22 through December 20.
This year’s honorees are:
- Benjamin Chaud for The Bear’s Song (Chronicle Books) – Gold Medal
- Carson Ellis for Wildwood Imperium (HarperCollins Publishers / Balzer + Bray) and Gary Kelley for Harlem Hellfighters (The Creative Company / Creative Editions) – Silver Medals
- Lane Smith and the late Arnold Lobel – Lifetime Achievement Awards
- Mike Curato for Little Elliot, Big City (Henry Holt) – The Founder’s Award
