Andrea Davis Pinkney & Shane Evans to Collaborate on a Middle Grade Novel
The story is about “a young refugee [who] finds hope and inspiration in learning to write and expressing herself through art. The middle-grade title was inspired by true events in Sudan and will be written in verse.”
Alvina Ling, an Editor at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, oversaw the acquisitions process and secured world English rights. Rebecca Sherman, a Literary Agent at Writers House, negotiated this deal on behalf of both Pinkney and Evans.
