Erin Stein to Join Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group
Erin Stein will be joining Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group as publisher starting December 1, 2014. Erin will lead a yet-to-be-named new imprint focusing on branded publishing and new content creation, as well as acquiring original commercial fiction and picture books. She will report directly to Jon Yaged, president and publisher of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group (MCPG).
Stein joins MCPG from Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, where she was editorial director of branded, licensed, and media tie-in publishing, developing original fiction and tie-in programs for bestselling licensed properties such as Ever After High, Monster High, My Little Pony, Despicable Me, and The Muppets, as well as overseeing traditional publishing brands including Arthur, Matt Christopher, and Tintin.
“MCPG has enjoyed fabulous growth over the past several years, and we are always exploring new ways to accelerate our growth. Erin’s phenomenal track record with licensed publishing and new content creation makes her the perfect fit for us. I could not be happier to welcome Erin to the team,” said Jon Yaged.
“I am thrilled to be joining the stellar group at Macmillan. The new imprint will be a creative playground for both developing new characters and properties and also working with partners to expand the worlds of existing brands.
