Students Still Prefer Physical Books
The survey was conducted by American University linguistics professor Naomi Baron. Reasons for teens’ preference include the satisfaction of gauging one’s physical progress in a book, and the pride of ownership that comes with displaying a printed book.
Despite the fact that 50 percent of Americans own a tablet or e-reader…Baron has found that owning is not the same thing as enjoying the actual experience….’There really is a physical, tactile, kinesthetic component to reading.’ (Digital Trends)
