Fabled Films Press Expands The Nocturnals’ with Exciting Wyndham Grand Hotel Partnership and New Middle Grade and Early Reader Books
New York, NY, February 2018 — Fabled Films Press, a children’s media and entertainment company, is excited to announce a notable partnership with Wyndham Grand, an upscale hotel brand and part of Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company. In February, Wyndham Grand will begin piloting a nationwide family program called Reconnected, a Family Experience, – a program addressing the dire need for quality time over screen time. Reconnected reminds families to slow down and enjoy their time together, and the program includes activities inspired by The Nocturnals, such as building the ultimate fort, using a shadow puppet guide, and more. Families will also enjoy a copy of The Mysterious Abductions (the series’ first book, which was chosen by the American Booksellers Association as a Kids’ Indie Next List pick).
Fabled Films is pleased to announce the growth of its critically acclaimed series, The Nocturnals, developed and written by film director and author Tracey Hecht and her writing team. The middle grade series’ fourth book, The Hidden Kingdom, will be published in February, and the Grow & Read early reader series’ second book, The Slithery Shakedown, will be out in April.
With the publication of the first book in April of 2016, Hecht partnered with the New York Public Library and created The Nocturnals Read Aloud Writing Program in ten schools around New York City. The program quickly expanded to over fifty schools and libraries, both domestically and abroad. In 2017, Fabled Films Press launched a new partnership with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation to bring the program to broadcast media centers within pediatric hospitals for children and their families in Washington D.C., Nashville, and Charlotte. That same year, Hecht and her team established a zoological program that launched at two events: the 2017 Brooklyn Book Festival’s Bookend event at Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn, New York, and an event in partnership with both the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fabled Films Press expanded its Nocturnals publishing program by adding two more middle grade books, The Ominous Eye and The Fallen Star, as well as launching the Grow & Read early reader program with The Moonlight Meeting. They also amplified their marketing efforts through media, print, and online advertising; an interactive website with printable games and resources for children, parents, librarians, and educators; and, most recently, a national book tour titled Brave in Challenge Nocturnals Book Tour: Encouraging Imagination and Empathy. On the tour (February and March), Hecht and her writing partner, Sarah Fieber (coauthor of the fourth book), will visit schools, libraries, and bookstores in over ten East and West Coast markets. The goal of the tour is to spark children’s imaginations through reading and help parents and educators create open communication with kids about bullying and self-esteem.
About The Nocturnals: The Nocturnals features three unlikely friends: Dawn, a serious fox; Tobin, a sweet pangolin; and Bismark, a loudmouthed, pint-sized sugar glider. The stories all play out in the friends’ nighttime world, and every adventure has teamwork, friendship, and humor. The brand is boy/girl and appropriate for kids aged 5–12. A website featuring animated shorts and fun downloadable activities for parents and their children, as well as educator guides for teachers and librarians, supports the brand. Fabled Films Press is planning a ten-book middle grade and six-book early reader series as well as a merchandise program for The Nocturnals.
