How did your publishing house start out?

The Rosen Publishing Group has been providing information to schools and libraries since 1950, when the Rosen family published their first books in New York City.

What is your publishing house most known for?

Rosen has served educators and students PreK–12 with high-interest educational materials for decades. From YA nonfiction guidance books on drug addiction, teen suicide prevention, and job skills to our most recent hi-lo novels addressing life’s most challenging circumstances, Rosen’s purpose has always been to inform, support, and inspire students in the United States and across the globe.

Where in the country is your house based? What do you love about being based there?

Buffalo, N.Y. – We love calling the “city of good neighbors” our home base. There is a deep sense of community and a lot of libraries to visit!

What conventions and conferences does your publishing house usually attend?

ALA, TLA, ISTE, and dozens of other national and regional conferences each year.

How many books does your house aim to publish per season/year?

1,000+ new titles annually across all our companies and imprints.

Which genres does your house prefer to publish?

Curriculum-aligned series nonfiction, hi-lo series nonfiction, and hi-lo verse middle grade and YA novels.

Which formats does your house prefer to publish?

Library, paperback, and eBook editions.

What are some of your house’s publishing priorities over the next few years?

Fiction and nonfiction decodables; high-interest, curriculum-aligned series nonfiction; hi-lo fiction and nonfiction.

Which title has your house recently rallied behind?

The Decodables – a 72-book program that incorporates the research and findings of the Science of Reading.
