Let’s Celebrate Puerto Rico!

This season feels like a historic moment for Puerto Rican pride—from Bad Bunny’s Grammy win for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, making history as the first Spanish-language album to take home Album of the Year and shining a global spotlight on his island roots, to his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show on February 8 that will bring Boricua culture center stage. Combined with Puerto Rico’s American Citizenship Day on March 2, it’s a perfect time to celebrate tales rooted in family and community and stories shaped by music, memory, and place.

We’re excited to present a curated selection of books that celebrate the voices, creativity, and pride that make Puerto Rico beautiful and unique. We feature 12 books below, as well as a downloadable spreadsheet and visual list with more books of interest.

We are also very happy to share the newest Get Caught Reading poster featuring Puerto Rican children’s book author, Lulu Delacre!
