6th Annual Love of Literacy Campaign Provides Hundreds of Children’s Books to Loudoun & Fairfax Organizations
LEESBURG, VA — Families, students, and educators of BeanTree Learning inNorthern Virginia donated more than 600 children’s books to worthwhile organizations in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties to promote early literacy. Each year, the school promotes its Love of Literacy campaign to provide age-appropriate books for children from infants to teen. This year, Child Find in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties and the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia benefitted from the donations that will be used in early literacy programs and in courses offering English as a second language.
“I personally get to see the reaction on my students’ faces when they see the beautiful new books donated each year from BeanTree. They just light up when they open up a new book to see what adventure awaits them to engage in a story in a meaningful way at their young age,” explained Carissa Pineda of the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia.
Since its launch in 2008, BeanTree’s Love of Literacy campaign has provided thousands of books to worthwhile Loudoun andFairfax organizations in their efforts to promote literacy as a foundation of learning during a child’s early development. “If we can teach a child to read and make reading fun, then we have helped nurture a stronger student and member of the community. It’s such a critical building block of learning and we are delighted that the Love of Literacy campaign with BeanTree Families has made such a profound difference in so many lives,” said Jennifer Bower, owner and founder of BeanTree Learning.
