Vote for the Fairest Book of Them All!
Everyone is invited to submit nominations and vote for the “Beauty and the Book” award, which is the Stiftung Buchkunst and Frankfurt Book Fair’s international audience prize for the best-designed book.
Frankfurt am Main, 17.07.2014 –
Which book will win the annual “beauty contest” at the Frankfurt Book Fair? Bibliophiles can cast their votes at www.beautyandbook.com starting now. They can also upload their nominees for the best-designed book and put them up to a vote. Simply log in, enter the ISBN of the book, write a brief explanation, click send and voilà. Authors and publishers who want to promote and nominate their own works can also use the same procedure. Books will then be rated by readers using a “like” function familiar to everyone who uses social media. Anything that makes a book beautiful can and should be evaluated: the cover, page layout, font and finishing.
Live voting will continue “offline” during the Book Fair. All visitors and bookworms can vote on the shortlist at the Stiftung Buchkunst’s stand (Hall 4.1 / Stand Q 17). The nominees that make it to the live voting round will be displayed at the stand and the international “Beauty and the Book” prize will also be awarded there.
With this project, the partners provide a new meeting place – both online and offline – for retailers, publishers and Book Fair attendees that naturally combines the passion all industry professionals have for well-designed books with the opportunity to purchase the nominated books on Buchhandel.de.
About the Stiftung Buchkunst: For more than 50 years, the Stiftung Buchkunst has ensured that good book design and manufacturing gets the attention it deserves. About the Frankfurt Book Fair: With the “State of the Arts” in Hall 4.1, the Frankfurt Book Fair has created a home for book art and well-designed books.
