Candlewick Press Books on Permanent Display at NYPL Shop

October 9, 2014 – Candlewick Press announced today that select titles will be on display and available for sale at the Readers & Writers Shop in The New York Public Library. The collection, which will showcase around 20 titles for young readers of all ages on a rotating basis, is the first permanent fixture for children’s books at the venue. 

The current display features such acclaimed titles as Newbery Medal-winner Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventure by Kate DiCamillo, illustrated by K. G. Campbell; Caldecott Medal-winner This Is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen; Journey by Aaron Becker;Egyptology by Emily Sands; Where’s Waldo? The Magnificent Mini Book Box by Martin Handford; Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made by Stephan Pastis; With a Mighty Hand: The Story in the Torah by Amy Ehrlich, illustrated by Daniel Nevins; and The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness.

Also available are news releases and books with a library theme, including A Library Book for Bear by Bonny Becker, illustrated by Kady MacDonald Denton; Maisy Goes to the Library by Lucy Cousins; The Brilliant World of Tom Gates by Liz Pichon; Wild Things! Acts of Mischief in Children’s Literature by Elizabeth Bird (youth materials collections specialist at The New York Public Library), Julie Danielson, and Peter D. Sieruta; Library Lion and The Evil Librarian by Michelle Knudsen; and Egg & Spoon by Gregory Maguire.
