Inside the Author's Studio with Kate DiCamillo
The author read from her latest book, Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures and shared the real-life inspiration behind the novel, including her late mother’s vacuum cleaner, and an ailing squirrel with an iron will.
While inspiration may strike from anywhere and at any moment, DiCamillo sticks to a rigorous routine. She begins work each day at 5:30 am — before her inner critic wakes up — and commits to writing two pages per day.
