Scholastic Unveils Newly-Branded Magazine For K-8 Teachers
NEW YORK, NY – Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today announced the renaming of America’s longest-running and largest magazine for educators, Instructor® Magazine, now entitled Scholastic Teacher™. The magazine has been a trusted resource for K–8 classrooms since its first issue published in 1891, highlighting innovative teaching ideas from educators around the country. Today, with more than 500K monthly readers in print and online, Scholastic Teacher serves as the go-to guide for teacher-tested lesson ideas, classroom organization and management strategies, education news, practical professional development advice, and timesaving tools.
“Teachers are the number one experts in education,” said Tara Welty, Editor-in-Chief of Scholastic Teacher. “We rely on their input for every aspect of the magazine and changing the name was no different. Our new, more modern name better reflects the term today’s educators use to identify themselves, but our mission remains the same: to celebrate and support teachers so they can do their best work in the classroom.”
The Fall 2015 issue includes lesson ideas from seven State Teachers of the Year, a guide to crowdfunding the classroom, strategies for meeting the needs of gifted learners, the best uses for Chromebooks and other ideas from the leading experts in education: teachers.
