Cuento de Luz To Print On Stone Paper
MIAMI, January 9th, 2017 – Cuento de Luz (www.cuentodeluz.com), a Spain-based, international publisher of children’s picture books with the US as main market, has announced its shift from traditional paper printing to stone paper. The move comes as part of the publisher’s commitment to care for the environment and be at the forefront of publishing innovation.
Cuento de Luz’ mission since inception has been to publish stories that take the imagination on a journey and help care for our planet, respect differences, eliminate borders and promote peace. The publisher has always incorporated the principles of sustainability and has announced that starting with its Spring/ Summer 2017 catalog, all of its new titles will be printed on stone paper.
The environmental benefits of stone paper are numerous. Since stone paper contains no wood pulp, no trees are used. Its production is also water and bleach free. The energy required to produce it is 50% less than normal paper. It has a very low carbon footprint, is photodegradable and is 100% recyclable. Stone paper is also more resilient to tear and is water resistant, making it ideal for children’s books.
“We are very proud to be the first publisher to use Stone Paper for the printing of all our new books. For Cuento de Luz this is a natural evolution in our commitment to social and environmental responsibility. ” says Ana Eulate, Founder and CEO of Cuento de Luz.
Cuento de Luz became a certified B Corporation in November of last year, the third publisher in the world, and the first publisher in Europe having received this certification.
