To Celebrate Its Fourth Anniversary, Swoon Reads Is Launching an App for iOS and Android
New York, NY (October 16, 2017) – Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group imprint Swoon Reads is releasing a brand new app, available for iOS and Android. The app allows users to read and rate manuscripts on-the-go (online or offline), leave comments, and much more.
Swoon Reads was founded in 2013 by veteran publisher Jean Feiwel to be a community where writers can submit YA manuscripts directly to a recognized leader in children’s publishing, and readers can become intimately involved with the publishing process by reading, rating, and commenting on the submissions on the site. The manuscripts most loved by readers and the Swoon Reads editorial team will be published in both print and e-book formats.
35 titles have been published, and more than 70 have been acquired to date. With three selection cycles a year, the imprint plans to acquire many more authors. Over 500 manuscripts are currently available to read online.
Swoon Reads offers writers a traditional publishing contract, and allows the readers to have a say in what gets published. Readers participate in every step of the publishing process: from the
initial discovery of the manuscript, to cover voting, selecting book titles, and getting a behind- the-scenes looks at each stage.
