Nosy Crow to Release First Android Apps
The NOOK editions of the two apps represent the first expansion into the Android platform for Nosy Crow, who have previously developed exclusively for iOS. For its existing apps, the company has been recognised with a Publishing Innovation Award, Junior Design Award, FutureBook Innovation Award, KAPi Award, iLounge Award, IPG Independent Publishing Award, and countless other reviews and commendations from parenting, media and technology bodies, and consumers.
“We’re very pleased to be taking our first steps into the Android market by developing our apps for the NOOK HD and NOOK HD+,” says Kate Wilson, Managing Director of Nosy Crow. “Barnes & Noble has created an ideal platform for developers like Nosy Crow, who create apps with reading and stories at their heart. Barnes & Noble understand books and book buyers and many of their NOOK customers are exactly the sort of people we have in mind when we create our apps: parents who are keen to use digital media to encourage their children to read. And they have built fantastic tablets which showcase our apps wonderfully.”
“We’re very excited about the addition of these great quality children’s apps from Nosy Crow, which look great on the high resolution displays of our new NOOK devices and will provide learning and entertainment to children and families,” says Claudia Romanini, Director, Developer Relations for NOOK Media LLC, a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble, Inc.
